Vehicles in German Town Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities reported they were notified by a individual who noticed a automobile in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Around fifty vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Cars, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.

Officers state they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.

The substance had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then located numerous other smeared cars and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are banned in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.

Police state early analysis show the fluid was likely blood from a person.

"Currently there is no lead as to its source; investigators are not yet cognizant of any harm in association with the occurrence," they commented.

Municipal representatives said they were trying "to solve the incident" and have requested to the public for information.

An important political figure said the vandalism made him stunned and had to be addressed quickly.

"This incident hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right attack five years ago," he stated on a platform, referring to the killing of nine victims by a gunman targeting residents of foreign heritage in February 2020.
